The courses and training programme we offer is made up of:
- A range of short introductory level courses for those wanting to enhance their current skills or those looking at exploring counselling and psychotherapy as a career
- Short Courses and CPD workshops for counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and other practitioners.
- Longer term clinical training programme in transactional analysis psychotherapy
Short Courses and Workshops
The introductory courses include Counselling Skills, Transactional Analysis (TA101) and CBT.
If you are looking at becoming a therapist and would like to explore options, our introductory courses are an excellent starting point.
Alternatively, as a beginning counsellor or therapist, you may want to build your confidence in seeing clients and expand your knowledge and understanding of how to work with people effectively.
We offer a range of workshops designed for those looking at counselling or psychotherapy as a career and for the counsellor or therapist who is new to practice. Workshops are highly interactive and practical. In addition, we aim to make the focus of sessions is to introduce easy to apply ideas and ways to work in a supportive and positive learning environment.
Introductory level workshops include large and small group work and experiential learning.
Psychotherapy Training
We offer a psychotherapy TA training programme (a registered course with UKCP) which is is a post graduate level 7 and can be accessed at the following levels:
Foundation Certificate – a 1 year course setting out the foundational elements,
The Diploma level course (years 2 & 3 for those continuing on from Foundation) and a fourth taught year for those wishing to work towards the Certificate in Transactional Analysis and UKCP Registration.
Intermediate Level
As a practitioner with some experience you will be building an understanding of your developmental edges. As you continue to work with clients you will want to expand your knowledge of how to work effectively. Intermediate level courses explore specific presentations and problems as well as look at other theoretical approaches. Our workshops focus on theoretical models for understanding. Above all, they also include practical ideas and ways to work in a supportive and positive learning environment.
Sessions incorporate large and small group work and experiential learning. We also offer useful resources to use in counselling and therapy sessions.
Also part of the CPD programme are the Evening Seminars. These are once a month on a Saturday evening. Seminars are on a variety of of topics, we invite a speaker to come along and speak to us. This will be on a subject related to transactional analysis they are interested or passionate about. In addition, these seminars are an opportunity to network and socialise with other professionals.
Advanced Level
As an experienced practitioner, you will be developing areas of specific expertise. You will also be exploring new areas of interest in your practice and your professional development needs. That is to say, your CPD activity will be about supporting your growing expertise or preparing for final examinations.
The range of workshops we offer for experienced counsellors or therapists include sessions on advanced theory. We also cover work with complex clients and presentations. Sessions include large and small group work along with opportunities for case discussions and supervision.
